CARNEGIE — A postal worker has been beaten with an aluminum baseball bat in a Pittsburgh suburb by two men who also smashed the window of his delivery truck.

Carnegie police haven’t identified the victim who was in his 40s. He was attacked Thursday about 2:30 p.m. when two men emerged from some woods.

Police from Carnegie and nearby Mount Lebanon and Scott Township searched for the two suspects but couldn’t find them.

Ron Hatcher, who lives nearby, tells the station that he saw the carrier moaning in pain and holding his shoulder after the carrier says he was hit in the back with the bat.

Hatcher says, “He told me they wanted his wallet, but they didn’t get it.”
