Walter Lee “Clem” Shankle Jr., 67, of Kittanning, formerly of Harrisburg and Butler, passed away Saturday at the VNA Hospice in Butler.

He was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Kittanning, the son of the late Walter Lee Shankle Sr. and Esther (Gaucker) Shankle.

Walter had worked at the Harrisburg paper and, when in Butler, he had remodeled homes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Shankle of Kittanning, who he married Aug. 8, 1988; his sisters, Patricia and her husband, Randy Bellis, of Chicora, Marge Shankle of Harrisburg and Sue Cousins of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister and his brother.
