Marilyn Jane McDeavitt
Marilyn Jane McDeavitt, 73, of Slippery Rock passed away Saturday at her home.
She was born July 1, 1943, in Grove City, Mercer County, to Charles Edward Reddick and Violet Jane McConnell Reddick.
She married Donald “Red” Francis McDeavitt on Dec. 23, 1966. He preceded her in death March 21, 2010.
Marilyn retired from USIS in 2001, following 27 years of service.
She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, being with her cat “Anakin” and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Charles McDeavitt and his wife, Marlena, of Grove City; her daughter, Valerie Ann Overly and her husband, Brian, of Slippery Rock; her sister, Ruby Haylett and her husband, Norman “Bud,” of Bessemer, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Mallory, Shelby and Amanda McDeavitt and Garrett and Hunter Overly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Robert, Leland and Vern.
MCDEAVITT — The family of Marilyn Jane McDeavitt, who died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Miller of the West Liberty United Methodist Church presiding. Interment will be at the West Liberty Cemetery.
