David Roman of Butler joined his beloved and desperately missed spouse, Pati, in heaven Saturday.

Pati and David are reunited and celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, Carmella Nicastro Roman and Peter Roman; and his siblings, Leonard, Larry, Joe and Ruth.

David is survived by his devoted son, Ryan; his daughter, Jessica Roman; and his brothers, Pete and Dan Roman.

A Dunmore High School, Dunmore, Pa., graduate, David found his way in 1979 to Pittsburgh in search of a new career. David's life-changing Pittsburgh intersection would be meeting the love of his life and forever soulmate, Pati. David would never look back to Scranton, rather forward in solidifying his life roots in Western Pennsylvania, centering on his family and business as a financial adviser.

David celebrated and displayed his Italian heritage with great pride, as well as embracing all that reflected the joy of Pati, Ryan and Jessica. David found joy and delight in life's big and small moments, Pati's cooking, everything Italian, motor cycling to parts unknown on the east coast, first responder snow plowing for neighbors, splitting wood, the family cats and just sitting on his deck watching the humming birds.

David treasured his marriage, his children, his friends and anyone who would listen to his jokes.

David's life collapsed physically in March, coping with the devastating and life-altering side effects of renal failure and heart disease. Despite his limitations, he hoped for independence. His goal was to return to 141 Becker, feeling safe and secure with Ryan as his steadfast support. That was not to be.

ROMAN — Friends of David Roman, who died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family.
