GROVE CITY — The reservation deadline is Sept. 15 for the 31st annual Bashline Hospital Alumni Dinner at Hoss’ Steak & Sea House, 1948 Leesburg Grove City Road.

Registration will be at 11:15 a.m. and lunch will be at noon.

SARVER — The Herbal Thymes Club of Sarver will stage its annual Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s Heide Hall, 409 Sarver Road.

Lunch and herbal products will be available for purchase.

The club will also have on Saturday:

A Wild Edible Plant Walk from 10 a.m. to noon at Todd Sanctuary, 347 Kepple Road. Participants will learn wild plant and mushroom identification.

A Wild Herbal Medicine Workshop from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Heide Hall. Participants will learn the medicinal properties and benefits of local wild plants and mushrooms, as well as the steps involved in making wild medicinal infusions, decoctions and tinctures.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, will host the following programs:

[naviga:h3]Program to feature historical figures [/naviga:h3]

HARMONY — Mary Cameron will portray Fredericka “Zelie” Passavant, Zelienople’s namesake, and Jack McMichael will appear as Christian Buhl, a prominent early 19th century Zelienople businessman, in a public program at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Harmony Museum’s Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer St.

McMichael will present “A Visit with Christian Buhl” while Cameron will describe portions of Zelie Passavant’s life.

The immigrant Passavants and Buhls left a legacy of charitable, medical, scientific and commercial enterprises in Western Pennsylvania and beyond, but their stories began in Zelienople.

The event is free.
