Russell Vivian

Russell Vivian, 94, of Zelienople, formerly of Tarentum and Freeport, passed away Tuesday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Conifer, Pa., he was the son of the late Richard and Felicia (Walkeson) Vivian.

Mr. Vivian proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during World War II while stationed aboard the U.S.S. Rocky Mount in the Pacific.

He was a member of 60 Plus in Evans City, the Zelienople American Legion Post 474 and a former member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his two sons, Russell D. Vivian and Daniel Vivian and his wife, Donna; four grandsons, Timothy Vivian, Chad Vivian, Justin Vivian and Andrew Vivian; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Vivian, Gabriel Vivian, Adelyn-Rose Vivian and Cole Vivian.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vivian was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Josephine L. (Miles) Vivian, who he married April 30, 1945, and who died April 4, 2012; and brothers and sisters.

VIVIAN — Funeral services and interment for Russell Vivian, who died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, will be conducted privately by the Vivian family.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E.
