Anna Maria Godlewski

Anna Maria Godlewski, 91, of Penn Township, Butler, formerly of Morningside, died Monday morning in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.

Born March 27, 1925, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Vincenza Pronio DiGiacomo.

Anna was a secretary for the Monumental Life Insurance Co. and had been a member of the Arsenal and Bloomfield AARP. She also did volunteer work for the VA Hospital in Aspinwall.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She was the beloved mother of Carl D. Godlewski and his wife, Edie, of Penn Township; the dear grandmother of Kurt and Eric (Melissa) Godlewski and Carla Smith (Craig); the great-grandmother of Eric Jr., Sarah and Benjamin Godlewski, and Allison and Liam Smith; the sister of John Como of Pittsburgh; and the aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt J. Godlewski, who she married Nov. 17, 1945, and who died May 14, 2002; and her siblings, Samuel and Frank DiGiacomo, Antoinette Ricci, Rose Zappa and Margaret Platt.

The family wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice staff, Trudy and Anna, for their excellent care.

GODLEWSKI — Friends of Anna Maria Godlewski, who died Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor, officiating.
