James A. Anderson
James A. Anderson, 77, of Butler passed away at 1:45 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
James was born June 8, 1939, in Butler. He was the son of the late Adam Leroy Anderson and the late Helen Elizabeth McCall Anderson.
He retired from Castle Rubber after 44 years of service, where he worked in the maintenance department.
James attended St. John's Methodist Church. During the early 1970s, Jim and several other men in the community formed the West Sunbury Little League Organization. He also served as the manager for the West Sunbury Wildcats for a number of years.
James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley McCloud Anderson; two sons, James A. (Karen) Anderson Jr. of Slippery Rock and Daniel A. (Tracy) Anderson of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Kirby A. (Erica) and Jamie L. Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Beckett and Aurora Anderson. Also surviving are his sister, Dorothy Gardner of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and William; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Kayla.
ANDERSON — Friends of James A. Anderson, who died Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Methodist Church, Halston Road, Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Jean Smith, his pastor, officiating.Private burial will be at the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. John's Church Memorial Fund.The William F.
