Robert L. Hillard
Robert L. Hillard, 88, of Mars, formerly of Lady Lake, Fla., and Uniontown, died Wednesday afternoon at the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born July 9, 1928, in Mars, he was the son of the late Raymond and Freda Iola Groom Hillard.
Bob retired in 1990 as a supervisor at the Pennsylvania American Water Co. in Uniontown and Connelsville.
He had served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of the John E. Mair Lodge 729, F.&A.M. in Mars, the Consistry-Valley of Pittsburgh and was a life member of the American Water Works Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Dendas of Nazareth, Pa., and Robyn Snyder and her husband, Terry, of Jackson, Wyo.; two sons, Raymond Hillard and his wife, Mandy, of St. Charles, Ill., and Randall Hillard and his wife, Carol, of Baldwin Borough; his sister, Mary Virginia Garrard of Augusta, Maine; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hill Hillard, who he married April 29, 1949, and who died Nov. 8, 2012.
HILLARD — Friends of Robert L. Hillard, who died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
