Stanley Messineo-Cypher
Stanley P. Messineo-Cypher, 83, of Cabot, Jefferson Township, passed away Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia.
He was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Brackenridge, the son of the late Lynn C. and Rosella L. (Messineo) Cypher. Stanley has lived in Cabot since 1967 and before that Frazer Township. He was a carpenter for Pullman Standard in Butler and also employed by the Catholic Cemeteries for 13 years and PPG Industries, Creighton, retiring in 1995.
Stanley was a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a Golden Gloves boxer for the Army. A member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Cabot, and the Frazer Township Sportsmen's Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, dancing and polkas and loved his country music.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Catherine R. (Majetich) Cypher; his daughters, Linda A. (Preston) Milich of Butler and Rosanne (Joseph) Thrower of Saxonburg; his grandchildren, Selena (Chris) McMichael, Jade and Abbie Thrower and great-grandchildren Amelia Rose and Joseph McMichael. Also surviving are his sisters, Margaret “Peggy” (Steve) Valencic of Mechanicsburg and Mary “Gertie” Gould of Winston, Ga., and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends as he was loved by everyone. His work ethic was: hard work never hurt anyone!
MESSINEO-CYPHER — Relatives and friends of Stanley P. Messineo-Cypher, who died Friday, July 22, 2016, are invited to attend a Christian funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. The Rev. Ward Stakem, pastor, will officiate. Please meet at the church.
