Twila Jean Hiner

Twila Jean (Hogue) Hiner, 84, of East Brady passed away from this life peacefully Tuesday with her family by her side at the Lutheran Senior Life VNA Hospice in Butler.

She was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Cokeville, Pa., to the late S. Thomas Hogue and E. Minerva (Kirkland) Hogue. She was a Free Methodist.

She met and married the love of her life at the age of 17. She and Gene married March 9, 1949, and were married for 65 years.

Mrs. Hiner and her husband started a dairy farm in 1957, where she carried the milk in buckets to the tank in the early years. Twila was devoted to her husband and family. When asked what her favorite thing to do was, she always responded by saying she loved cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her family.

Twila grew up with a love of singing and music, singing as a child with her siblings. She continued to sing throughout her life with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Ron (Sandy) Hiner of Kittanning and Keith (Suvan) Hiner of East Brady; four daughters, Twila (Dick) Timblin of Worthington, Tammy (Ray) Heginbotham of Karns City, Kelly Giron and her companion, Mark, of East Brady, and Ivy Roudebush and her companion, Frank, of Butler; two stepdaughters, Deloris Taylor of Mt. Joy, Pa., and Bonnie Springer of Uniontown, Pa.; two sisters, Ada Angelo and Clara Rafitz, both of Uniontown; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.

She was lovingly cared for by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Hiner Sr., who died Aug. 17, 2014; her son, Eugene Hiner Jr., who died Feb. 10, 1979; her grandson, Eugene Hiner III, who died Jan. 13, 2000; her granddaughter, Krista Hiner McNaughton, who died Oct. 11, 2003; her stepdaughter, Wanda McCarthy, who died Aug. 5, 1975; four brothers, Alfred, Virgil, Clifford and Elmer, who she adored; and four sisters, Alberta Jennings, Alice “Peg” Murry, Wanda “Mop” Sagosky and her infant sister, Evelyn Hogue, who she also adored.

HINER — Friends of Twila Jean (Hogue) Hiner, who died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 East Brady Road, Cowansville, Pa.The Rev.
