June C. King
June C. King, 61, of Wampum Avenue, Ellwood City, passed away Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
Born June 7, 1955, in Sharon, she was the daughter of the late Roy Samuel Canterbury and Nora Bell Kitson Canterbury of Beaver. She was married for 40 years to William “Bill” David King. They were married July 26, 1975. He survives.
June graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973.
She had worked at Formed Fiberglass and at Giant Eagle, but her most important job was being a devoted housewife and mother. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the church council, was the coordinator of the funeral luncheons, a member of the Altar Guild, a money counter, a member of the Food and Fun Team, and a member of the “2 X 2” Team. She also was a member of the IMBS Club in Koppel. She loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed her card club and swimming.
Her most cherished time was spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Nora, and her husband, Bill, survivors include, two sons, James “Jamie” (Jessica) King of Wampum, Pa., and William David King Jr. of Ellwood City; two sisters, Carol Canterbury of Wurtemburg, Pa., and Royellen Canterbury of Neshannock, Pa.; two brothers, Roy Canterbury of Ellwood City and Jack Canterbury of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Brandon, John, Zoe, Matthew, Jessica, Alley and Asa King; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Palmer and Florence Canterbury; and two brothers, Kenneth and Brian Canterbury.
KING — Friends of June C. King, who died Monday, July 18, 2016, will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev.
