James A. Green

James A. Green, 58, of Butler died Sunday morning in the comfort of his home.

He was born Feb. 3, 1958, in Butler to the late Carl LaVern Green and Emma Evelyn (Heasley) Green.

Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting with his sons and his brothers, and working in his garage, painting vehicles and fixing anything that needed fixed. Jim enjoyed the thrill of a bargain from garage sales. He also loved his chicken wings and steaks. Most of all, he loved having an active role in his children and grandbabies lives and their activities.

Jim made his living working as a mechanic at Advocate Services, Creekside, R&R Mac, Bacher's Automotive and until his illness, McCylmond's Trucking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sherry L. (Schnur) Green. He also is survived by his four children, Angelina (John) Green Saeler of Butler and her children, Emily and Lindsey; Sheila Myers of Butler and her children, Melody, Alissa, Reece and Paige; Craig (Bo) Green of Butler and his children, Cavan and Chevelle; and Warren Green of Butler.

Surviving brothers and sisters are Tom (Mary) Green of Worthington, Ken (Mary) Green of West Sunbury, Margaret (Dan) Check of Sarver, Tony Schnur, Ken Schnur and Sabrina (Ed) Schnur.

Other survivors include parents-in-law, Art and Judy Schnur, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Howard Green, three infant siblings and Joe Schnur.

GREEN — Friends of James A. Green, who died Sunday, July 17, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
