Harry V. Kidd Jr.

Harry V. Kidd Jr., 100, of Butler passed away at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.

Born July 28, 1915, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry V. Kidd Sr. and Jane May Slaugenhaupt Kidd.

Harry graduated from Butler High School in 1934 and retired from ARMCO, where he worked in silicon maintenance.

He was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler.

Harry enjoyed decorating empty toilet paper tubes at a craft table in his apartment at Newhaven Court at Clearview. He decorated more than 300 tubes for each holiday, filled them with candy and delivered them to South Butler County Meals on Wheels, nursing homes and Nixon Preschool.

Harry is survived by his son, Francis S. Kidd and his wife, Darlene, of Novato, Calif.; two daughters, Loretta M. Donaldson of Butler and Jane M. Rak and her husband, Robert, of Ellwood City, and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Kidd of San Antonio, Texas. He also is survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death in 2006 by his loving wife, Anna Lehnerd Kidd, who he married May 24, 1941; his son, William A. Kidd, who died in 2015; and his three brothers, Richard, William and Sterling Kidd.

KIDD — There will be no visitation for Harry V. Kidd Jr., who died Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
