John Howard Stamm Sr.
John Howard Stamm Sr., 78, of Slippery Rock Township passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Grove City Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Franklin Township, to Howard Lloyd Stamm and Hazel Margaret (McCall) Stamm. He married Helen J. Chembars on May 16, 1957.
John was a heavy equipment operator and had worked at Cooper Brothers in Slippery Rock for more than 40 years.
He was Baptist and loved his work.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Donna L. (Jeff) Plutt of Butler; two sons, John H. (Carol) Stamm Jr. of Grove City and Stephen C. Stamm of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Gladys Sankey of Grove City and Linda (Tim) Shuck of Ames, Iowa; his brother, Wayne (Sue) Stamm of Grove City; eight grandchildren, Jerrod (Amber) Seivers, Josh (Shelby) Seivers and John Seivers of Grove City, Shane, Craig and Troy Stamm of Grove City, Taylor Stamm of Slippery Rock and Adam Plutt of Butler; four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kaleigh Seivers and Norah and Cale Seivers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Connie Sue Scott.
STAMM — The family of John Howard Stamm Sr., who died Friday, July 8, 2016, will conduct a memorial service which will be announced later in the Butler Eagle.Arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
