William S. Brown Jr.
William S. Brown Jr., 85, of Zelienople passed away Friday while at the Passavant Retirement Community.
Born April 10, 1931, in Verona, he was the son of the late William S. Brown Sr. and Helen E. (Dilley) Brown.
Bill proudly served our country as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force.
Known as “Citizen Bill,” he was an activist on constitutional rights and wrote several newspaper articles. He was a dedicated worker and enjoyed flying planes. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Inger G. Brown of New Market, Va., Heather D. Shaver of Harrisburg, Pa., and Sharon L. Buttermore of New Castle; his grandchildren, Rachel, Caitlyn and Ali; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Andrea K. “Andi” Brown, who he married on July 18, 1987.
BROWN — The family of William S. Brown Jr. will welcome friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. John Hoogerbrugge officiating. Military honors will follow the funeral service.
