SINKING SPRING — Authorities say an apparent “murder/suicide” note was found in a home where a family of five, including three children, were found dead of gunshot wounds.

Police in Berks County went to the Sinking Spring home Saturday afternoon to check on the welfare of the family after a call from a concerned relative.

District Attorney John Adams said Mark Short Sr., 40, Megan Short, 33, and their children — 8-year-old Lianna, 5-year-old Mark Jr., and 2-year-old Willow — were all found dead of gunshot wounds. A handgun was found near one of the adults.
