Arthur “Art” L. Russell, Jr.
Arthur “Art” L. Russell, Jr., 84, of Prospect passed away Monday at his home.
He was born March 29, 1932, in Rome to the late Arthur L. Russell Sr. and Elizabeth (Joyce) Russell.
Arthur was a carpenter foreman for Lane Construction in Meriden, Conn., building roads, bridges and dams.
He attended the Butler Community Alliance Church in Butler. Arthur enjoyed singing, music and talking with friends over coffee at Panera.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, whom he married Aug. 29, 2005; one son, Stephen Russell and his wife, Carol, of Butler; two daughters, Elizabeth Blow and her husband, Douglas, of Downingtown, Pa., and Carol O'Donnell and her husband, Brian, of Central Asia; three stepsons, Dennis Hogue of Butler, Jeff Hogue and his wife, Dixie, of Slippery Rock and Dana Hogue of Butler; one stepdaughter, Joyce Davies and her husband, Charles, of Prospect; seven grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, and Jonathan Blow, Stacey and Stephanie Russell and Amy and Aaron O'Donnell; three step-grandchildren, Danielle Busi, T.J. Hogue and Charles Davies; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Russell and his wife, Pat of Pottstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Sarah (Sweet) Russell, whom he married Feb. 17, 1951, and who passed away Feb. 21, 2004; and one sister, Esther Russell.
RUSSELL — Friends of Arthur “Art” L. Russell, who died Monday, July 4, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler with the Rev.
