Maureen Stivers

Maureen “Reen” Stivers, 65, of Buffalo Township passed away Sunday at her brother's home in Freeport while in the company of family members.

Maureen was born Nov. 2, 1950, in Curtisville. She was the daughter of the late Eunice M. (Durst) “Tippy” Hidinger and Francis E. McKenna.

Reen worked as a supervisor at KMC Windows Leechburg for 20 years. Reen had also worked for Napco in Sarver and Leeds in New Kensington.

Reen was a member of the Outdoor Life Lodge and the Freeport VFW. She enjoyed antiquing, auctions and spending time with her family and being outdoors.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Melissa Stivers of Buffalo Township; and her grandchildren, Ashlee (Jeff) Gumkowski, Alec, Katie, James and Charles “Bear” Stivers.

She also is survived by her companion, Clem “Squirrel” Kulick; her two brothers, Ronald (Vincetta) McKenna and Bruce (Gloria) McKenna; her sister, Susan (Jeff) Swiklinski; two stepbrothers, David (Mary) Hidinger and Scott (Chris) Hidinger; her special friend who she cared for, Roy “Butch” Cavenaugh; and her two dogs, Max and Gidget.

She is preceded by her son, Christopher Stivers, and her first husband, Charles Stivers.

STIVERS — Family and friends of Maureen “Reen” Stivers, who died Sunday, July 3, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.At Reen's request, there will be a private family funeral service, and she will be buried with her mother at the Brookland Cemetery in Allegheny Township.To send a condolence, visit www.redmondfuneralhomeinc.com.
