John O. Suosio

John O. Suosio, 76, of Slippery Rock passed away Saturday morning at his home.

Born Feb. 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Harvey W. and Eva Linna Suosio.

John is survived by his wife, Kathleen Flynn Suosio, who he married May 7, 1966.

John graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1958 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University in 1962.

John worked for Central Chemical in Butler before he retired as a sales manager. Previous to that, he owned his own business, Hilltop Home Decorating Center, in Bowie, Md. John started his career with General Fire Proofing in Washington D.C. He also served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant.

John liked hunting, fishing and boating, and he loved the Chesapeake Bay, but most of all he enjoyed working on his farm. He was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two sisters, Laila Hooper of Lorraine, Ohio, and Miriam Erickson of Peabody, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dr. Helen Suosio; and his brother, Harvey W. Suosio.

SUOSIO — In keeping with the wishes of John O. Suosio, who died Saturday, July 2, 2016, there will be no visitation or service.Arrangements are being handled by the R.
