Arthur McDonald

Arthur McDonald

Arthur L. McDonald Jr., formerly of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on April 11 in Florida.

Born May 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Doris (Brown) and Arthur McDonald.

Art lived a full life. During his early years, many knew him as The Flying Farmer racing his 100 car to many checkered flags. He had raced at Sharon Speedway. He was also well known as Chrome for his mechanical talent to fix anything with a motor.

In his later years, he ran his own HVAC business, and was working in mechanical, electrical and plumbing. His HVAC work took him from coast to coast. He loved traveling and seeing the sites, especially historical sites and museums, and it was even better if he could ride his motorcycle there.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia McDonald of Ava, N.Y.; one nephew, Anthony “Tony” McDonald of Ava, N.Y.; two nieces, Brenda (Russ) Becker of West Leyden, N.Y. and Marsha (William) Humphreys of Rome, N.Y.; two great-nephews, Jeremy and Evan Becker; his extended family in the Butler area and his MEP family.

He was predeceased by his brother Carl (Kelly) McDonald.
