Shirley Herald Yeager

Shirley Herald Yeager of Warren passed into the Lord's hands Monday.

Shirley was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Butler, the daughter of Ethel (McCandless) Herald and Earl F. Herald and sister to Lucille Henderson, who preceded her in death.

Shirley was the widow of William E. Yeager Jr. They were married Jan. 12, 1962.

In 1945, after growing up in Bulter, she attended Penn State University, where she majored in chemical engineering. Upon returning to Butler, she was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, a member of the Butler Chapter 45 of Order of Eastern Star, a member and past president of the Junior Woman's Club, and a member of the Tuesday Musical Club.

After moving to Warren, she was active in the Philomel Club, serving as president for three years; the Women's Club, serving as treasurer; and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. She also was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Warren Historical Society and the Chautauqua Opera Guild.

Surviving are five children, Christine Nordenson of Eugene, Ore.; Zeno Henninger of Brunswick, Maine; John Henninger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mary Rudd of Panton, Vt.; and Emily Yeager of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by three granddaughters and one grandson.

YEAGER — A private service for Shirley Herald Yeager, who died Monday, June 20, 2016, will be conducted by the family.Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Warren or the Women's Club of Warren.The Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Warren, is assisting with the arrangements.Condolences may be sent to www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com.
