Kathryn P. “Kitty” Briceland
Kathryn P. “Kitty” Briceland, 69, of Karns City passed on to eternal reward Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, following a 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born Oct. 3, 1946, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Andrew C. and Helen (Gruber) Briceland.
Kitty graduated from Mars High School in 1964.
She went on to work for Bobbie Brooks immediately out of high school and worked there and in the garment industry for many years. Kitty moved to Greenville, N.C., to accept a job with GUESS and retired from there in 2000.
She was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Chicora and was very devoted to her faith.
Kitty enjoyed spending winters at her home in Brooksville, Fla., crocheting, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. She loved vintage dolls, brooches and antiques, and she had her collections displayed for all to enjoy. Kitty will be remembered for her quick wit and love of fun. She loved to laugh and make others laugh too.
She is survived by her life partner of over 40 years, Clarence “Burt” Williams of Karns City; stepdaughters, Sherry Adams and her husband, Chris, of Fairmount City, Pa., and Brenda Karas and her husband, Chet, of Pittsburgh; her brothers, Earl Briceland and his wife, Joyce, of California, Pa., and Andrew Briceland and his wife, Julie, of York, Pa.; her grandchildren, Jared and Alyssa Bowser, and Jeremy and Caden Adams; her beloved beagle, Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepdaughter, Darlene Williams; and her beloved poodle, Coco Bean.
