Cranberry edged by Valley

Cranberry Township battled back from an early 4-0 deficit, but its comeback fell short in a 4-3 loss to host Valley in the Butler County American Legion baseball league king’s seat game on Saturday.

Matt McKenna pitched a complete game in defeat and Austin Young collected three hits for Cranberry, which will next be in action in the double-elimination tournament Thursday against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Saxonburg and Kiski.

Kiski 4, Meridian 0 — Kiski led 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning before plating three insurance runs in eliminating Meridian from the tournament. No other details were available.

Kiski plays Saxonburg at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Laura Doerr Park. The winner will face Cranberry in the loser’s bracket final on Thursday.
