Shields shoots 64 for win at Open
CRANBERRY TWP — Kevin Shields of The Club at Nevillewood shot a 6-under-par 64 Monday to win the Cranberry Highlands Open.
Shields won the event on the Cranberry Highlands course by three strokes over Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club, John Aber of Allegheny Country Club, Bob Meyer of Valley Brook Country Club, Dennis Munko of Greensburg Country Club and Dieter Wiedmayer of Oakmont Country Club.
Saxonburg resident Joe Boros of Treesdale was among six golfers finishing four strokes back.
John Aubrey of Aubrey’s Dubbs Dred and John Mazza of Connoquenessing Country Club shot a 2-over-par 72.
There were 76 golfers in the Tri-State PGA event.
