Betty J. George, 50, of Franklin passed away unexpectedly at 10 a.m. Monday at a friend's home in Rouseville, Pa.

Born June 11, 1965, in Butler, she was a daughter of Barbara Schulter Cress, the late Clifford R. George Sr. and her stepfather, Donald Cress.

Betty was a homemaker who loved to travel and spend time with her grandkids.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four children, David George, Ashley George and Casey George, all of Butler, and Stephanie Setting of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Avie-anna, Wyatt, Kynaii, Caleb, Caileigh, Baylee, Mya and Mariah; two brothers, Clifford Meidlein and his wife, Betty, of North Canton, Ohio, and Clifford R. George Jr. of Butler; two half-sisters, Charilyn Rich and her husband, David, of Portland, Ore., and Jessica Erdos of Butler; her stepsister, Crystal Hollenbec of Florida; and her beloved service dog, Jake.

She was preceded in death by her father; her daughter, Della Purbaugh; her brother, Anthony George; and her stepmother, Kay George.

GEORGE — There will be no visitation for Betty J. George, who died Monday, June 6, 2016.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 17 at the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, Butler, with a lunch to follow.
