Shirley E. Engel, 61, of Butler passed away Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Butler to the late Robert Emery and Margaret (Schettler) Emery.

Shirley worked for Shop-n-Save and Napco. She enjoyed reading, adult coloring books and was a big fan of the Steelers.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Engel, who she married on May 12, 1991; two stepsons, Jonathan Engel and wife, Jen, of Pittsburgh and Keith Engel of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, J.D. Engel and Grace Engel; one sister, Susan Emery of Butler; one sister-in-law, Chris Chubeck and her husband, Daryl, of Pittsburgh and her father-in-law, Harold C. Engel Jr. of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anita Emery.

Engel, who died Thursday, June 2, 2016, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Butler Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 365 Sawmill Run Road.
