'Massey Harbison' arrives at Freeport

ALLEGHENY TWP, Westmoreland County — Freeport Theatre Festival will open its 27th summer season with “Massey Harbison,” a historical drama written and directed by Rennick Steele.

Harbison was a notable local heroine who was kidnapped by Native Americans and managed a daring escape.

“Massey Harbison” will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 8 to 24. All shows start at 7 p.m.

The other show in the season will be “Spirit of St. Mary’s,” a new historical drama written and directed by Steele, running Aug. 12 to 28.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and less for senior citizens, military members and students.

The theater is on the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356.
