July art classes begin soon for children at The Butler Art Center.

Summer art classes for children are scheduled at the Butler Art Center.

Each week of summer camp includes painting, T-shirt making, 3-D artwork, drawing, printmaking, more theme related projects, and a healthy snack.

Themes are:

July 11 to 14 — Wearable art (jewelry, clothing, outfit design)

July 18 to 21 — Art and the environment (recycled materials, installation art, artwork from nature)

Aug. 1 to 4 — Make a story (students will write and illustrate their own story)

Aug. 8 to 11 — Color! (art inspired by pop art and abstract art).

The camps run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and are for students ages 5 to 12.

Cost is $60 per week, and additional siblings can attend for $40 per week. Each child also must take a plain white T-shirt to be used to make a camp T-shirt.
