Marilyn Jean Ahrens
Marilyn Jean Ahrens, 83, of Butler passed away Monday at her home.
She was born June 15, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of the late Bernard O. and Sadie (Sather) Miller.
Marilyn was an avid card player and was in several card clubs. She enjoyed doing puzzles and Sudoku. Marilyn volunteered at Butler Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending vacations at the beach with family and friends.
She was a Montgomery Ward employee for 27 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy (Jim) Doyle of Stafford, Va., and Jane (Bob) McCulley of Bridgeport, W.Va.; two sons, Mark (Monica) Ahrens of Butler and John (Stacey) Ahrens of Butler; five grandchildren, Michael and Dylan Ahrens, Bobby (Dominique) McCulley, Ryan McCulley and Janson Doyle; and one great-grandchild, Jeanette McCulley.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Miller.
AHRENS — Friends of Marilyn Jean Ahrens, who died Monday, May 23, 2016, will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev. Dave Walters of Amedisys Hospice.
