Lorraine Karenbauer

Lorraine Karenbauer

Lorraine Callihan Leslie Karenbauer, 81, of Butler passed away Saturday at Parker Personal Care in Parker.

Born April 1, 1935, in Homestead, Pa., Lorraine was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Geczi.

She was a retired certified nurse's aide, who was employed at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Chicora Medical Center.

She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the 55 and Alive of Saint Michael's.

Lorraine was a virtuous woman who worked hard to raise her six children and did an excellent job. She was always caring for others, making sacrifices for those she loved — the elderly in her professional role, her friends and especially her children and grandchildren.

She was devoted to her faith in God and would often spend time in Saint Michael's Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Lorraine also will be remembered as a talented seamstress and cook. She loved to read books and to keep a spotless home.

She provided for all whom she loved generously, and she has left a beautiful legacy of family. We are faithful that Jesus is watching over her now in His heavenly gardens of joy and peace. She now shares the glory of heaven with the angels and saints, where she so well deserves to be.

She is survived by one son, Edward M. Callihan and his wife, Carol, of Butler; five daughters, Lori Lawson and her husband, Douglas, of Butler, Theresa Beck and her husband, Robert, of Butler, Tammy Smith and her husband, M. Tim, of Butler, Virginia Barnhart and her husband, Lee, of Chicora, and Jacqueline Spiece and her long-time companion, Doug Weiland, of Butler.

She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, Mark Francis, Leslie Chambers (Chris), Samantha Bradley (Ryan), Allene Naples (Scott), Makenzie Schulz (Andy), Kristin Barnhart, Mathew Beck (Kara), Tim Smith (Rachel), David Beck (Anne Castello) and Cale Lawson (Brooke Sutton); and five great-grandchildren, Cameron Francis, Riley Francis, Alexa Bradley, Ike Schulz and Anthony Naples.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin F. Callihan; her second husband, Charles E. Leslie; and her third husband, Harry Karenbauer; five brothers; and five sisters.
