Donal 'Red' Peters
Donal “Red” Peters, 74, of Butler passed away Thursday at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Butler to the late Richard William Peters and the late Margaret Emma Snyder.
Donal worked for BLE Railroad, Pullman Standard, Jim McKain Ford and Wendy's. He retired after several years of working at Auto Zone as an assistant manager.
Donal volunteered at Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed coin collecting and going fishing. Donal liked to spend time with family and church friends talking about old cars.
He served in the U.S. Navy as an E-4, serving in Japan, California, Washington and Hawaii.
Donal is survived by his spouse, Karen; three daughters, Erika Nordberg of Butler, Sonya Durkacs and her husband, Dan, of Butler and Heather Reynolds of Butler; one grandchild, Andrew Nordberg; one sister, Ruby Daugherty and her husband, Jim, of Arlington, Texas; four nieces, Samantha Lang, Megan Daugherty, Jenny Donaldson and Megan Winaught; and two nephews, James Daugherty and Nicholas Barnes.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Kathie (Peters) Fraser, and his sister, Mary Susan Peters.
