Library hosts veterinary lectureZELIENOPLE — Dr. Amy Lynn Wong of Ellwood Animal Hospital and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care will be at Zelienople Area Public Library at 6:30 p.m. June 27 to speak on how complementary care and medicine create better quality of life for pets and their families.Wong’s practice of four veterinarians and 28 support staff offers integrative pet care including conventional veterinary care, medical, dental and surgical care, along with acupuncture, animal chiropractic, stem cell therapy, herbs and Chinese medicine.Wong is certified in veterinary massage and rehabilitative therapy and received her DVM from Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.This health literacy program is free and open to the public and will be held in the library’s meeting room.For more information, call the library at 724-452-9330 or e-mail zelienople@bcfls.org.

Team collects foodbank itemsThe Blue Sox Boosters will have a food drive and raffle at Kelly Automotive Park before tonight’s baseball game.Visitors who donate a nonperishable food item will be given a ticket to enter a raffle to win one of 32 gift cards to businesses.Proceeds from the food drive will go to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, a nonprofit organization that feeds and clothes needy people in the community.The raffle drawings will take place during the game’s first inning. The game begins at 7:05 p.m.

Church will host community festCHICORA — North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, will have a community festival from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
