Man rescued after driving into river PITTSBURGH — Police say a man had to be rescued from a vehicle that he drove into the Allegheny River.Authorities say river rescue crews were called to the Allegheny Thursday afternoon and broke the driver’s side window of the car. Crews then cut the seat belt off the unresponsive man and pulled him from the car.Officials said emergency crews tried to revive him as they took him to a hospital. His condition hasn’t been released. Police say he is alive. The car ended up on its roof and was pulled out hours later. It’s unclear why the man drove into the river.

Notre Dame sued over pieces of artPITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man is suing the University of Notre Dame, alleging the school is displaying $575,000 worth of early American art that was stolen from his father.Scott Leff and his wife filed the lawsuit last month, accusing Notre Dame of buying his father’s art collection more than a decade ago from a New Mexico dealer, who bought it from Jay Leff’s ex-wife.Scott Leff says his father’s ex-wife pilfered his art collection in 1996 after his father filed for divorce. He’s seeking the art’s return or damages equal to its current value.The university says in correspondence with Scott Leff that he has no proof of ownership and did nothing to get the art back for 20 years. A spokesman says the university acquired the figurines in good faith.
