Shirley L. Haley

Shirley L. Haley, 67, of Hooker Road, Karns City, passed away peacefully Friday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler with family at her side.

Shirley was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Butler. She was the daughter of William Floyd and Maude Nellis Steele.

Shirley was a 1966 graduate of Karns City Fairview Township High School. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and reading and was always looking forward to lunch dates with her friend, Ella Plunkard.

Shirley is survived by three daughters, Sheila L. Colville and her husband, Lance, of West Sunbury, Patricia L. Haley and Justin Knox of Fairview and Shelby Haley and Tim Scott of Fairview; her long time companion, Gary L. Blauser of Karns City; seven grandchildren, William “Billy” VanWormer of Fairview, Samantha Haley of Petrolia, Trevor Haley of West Sunbury, Devin Haley of Fairview, Chase Colville, Lauryn Colville and Corey Colville, all of West Sunbury; her brother, James “Red” Steele and his wife, Darlene, of Kittanning; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Marion Bell; and her former husband, Ronald R. Haley.

HALEY — Friends of Shirley L. Haley, who died Friday, May 13, 2016, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd H. Barnhart, pastor of the Faith Community Church, a United Methodist congregation, officiating.Memorial contributions in Shirley's name may be made to the Hile Funeral Home, P.O.
