Sara I. (Mowry) Claypoole
Sara I. (Mowry) Claypoole, 94, of Worthington died Saturday at her home.
She was born May 21, 1921, in Dravosburg, Pa., to the late John and Isabelle (Hurl) Mowry.
Sara was a bookkeeper for the family farm and a housewife. She was a longtime member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church.
She enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, gardening and her cats.
Sara is survived by her son, DeJay Claypoole of Worthington; her daughter-in-law, Anita Claypoole of Worthington; her daughters, Janet (John) Ruszaj of New York and Marilyn (Larry) Strobel of Worthington; her grandchildren, Kim (Jason) Gerber of Mercer, Lisa (Tony) Saloum of Worthington, Alex (Nicole) Claypoole of Worthington, Time (Colleen) Shafer of New York, Eric (Tonia) Shafer of Tennessee, Brian (Laura) Strobel of Bayden, Pa., and Sonja (Chris) Perry of Florida; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her sister-in-law, Louise Mowry of Cabot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oren Claypoole; her grandson, Jimmy Claypoole; her brothers, Wilbert Mowry and Robert Mowry; and one sister, Jean Troll.
CLAYPOOLE — Friends of Sara I. (Mowry) Claypoole, who died Saturday, April 29, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington.Additional viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Franklin Union Baptist Church with the Rev.
