Civil War songs focus of eventSongs of the Civil War as performed by the band Bojack will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Preston Room at the Butler YWCA, 120 W. Cunningham St. Admission is free.All the best known songs of the Civil War era including “Rally Round the Flag,” “Dixie,” “Marching Through Georgia” and “Ashokan Farewell” will have the audience singing along. Phipps hosts BioBlitzPITTSBURGH — On Sunday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is hosting its first BioBlitz event.A BioBlitz brings together volunteer scientists, families, teachers, students and community members to conduct a biological survey of all of the living species in a given area.The free festival will include bird watching in Schenley Park, creating unique art, family-friendly activities and exhibits, music, and vendors.
