Helen L. “Red” Shute
Helen L. “Red” Shute, 84, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
She was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Kissinger Mills, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles R. and Edna Mae (Anthony) Sanford.
Helen was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church. She also had belonged to TOPS. She had a special collection of pigs, which she received from family and friends. Helen especially enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.
She had retired from Bobbie Brooks.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Shute and Karen L. Zedreck, both of Butler; her granddaughter, Tammy Zedreck of Grove City; two sisters, Virginia Womeldorf of Vandergrift and Shirley Minnich of Leechburg; her brother, Charles Sanford of North Apollo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Allen F. Shute; and four sisters, Irene, Evelyn, Betty and Sara.
SHUTE — Friends of Helen L. “Red” Shute, who died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis officiating.
