Dorothy J. (Wittik) Pityk

Dorothy J. (Wittik) Pityk, 81, of West Leechburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Concordia at Cabot location, Jefferson Township.

Born Oct. 26, 1934, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of the late Metro and Mary (Skoncey) Wittik.

Dorothy was employed as a clerk for J.C. Murphy's, Butler, and as a clerk for the Ben Franklin Store, Allegheny Township.

She was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School, a member of the Christ the King Parish, Gilpin Township, Pa., and a member of the former St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Leechburg.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband, Steve.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Stephen J. Pityk of West Leechburg; her sister-in-law, Marie Lachowski of Warren, Ohio; her nephew, Ted Wittik (Sharon) of Cannonsburg, Pa.; her nieces, Barbara Honeychuck (Bob) of Cannonsburg, Diane Wittik of Warren, Ohio, and Mary Catherine Wittik of Imperial, Pa.; and her sister-in-law, Marie Stopansky, of Apollo, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Andrew and John Wittik; her sisters, Katherine Hunka, Ann Wittik and Helen L. Wittik; her nephew, Andrew Wittik; and her sister-in-law, Vivian Wittik.

PITYK — Friends of Dorothy J. (Wittik) Pityk, who died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, will be welcomed by her family from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, where a vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Friday.Parting prayers of transfer will be at 9:45 a.m. Saturday followed by a Christian funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ The King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. Monsignor Larry J. Kulick, JCL, officiating, and the Rev. Daniel L. Blout and the Rev. James H.
