Gwen Binder of Tybee Island, Ga., passed away Saturday at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga.

Born March 10, 1970, and raised in Zelienople, she graduated from Seneca Valley in 1988 and the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 1990.

She proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years. In Savannah, she worked in customer service for AirTran.

Gwen is survived by her son Cameron; her mom and stepdad, Deborah and Roger Nicklas of Tybee Island; her sister, Stephanie (Jon) VanDomelen; her niece, Jill; and her nephew, Nick, all of Allons, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Binder; and her grandparents, Ron and Mary Lu Roach of Zelienople and Harry and Mae Piper of Evans City.
