Dorothy L. (Miller) McDonald

Dorothy L. (Miller) McDonald, born July 4, 1916, passed away Thursday.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the First English Lutheran Church in Butler. Dorothy was a member of the Butler Country Club and enjoyed bowling with “The Girls” into her 90s. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She enjoyed many social and service functions. Dorothy supported the performing arts around Butler, especially the Butler Symphony, the Butler Little Theatre and the Musical Theatre Guild. She also was a member of the Opera Guild.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Judith A. Miller of Thornburg, Pa., and Nedra B. Casey of Lewisville, N.C.

Dorothy's grandchildren, David, Rachel, Kindra, Meagan and Meredyth are joined by her seven great-grandchildren in expressing their love and remembrances of all she did for them.

Dorothy's husband, Hiram B. McDonald, with whom she enjoyed more than 52 years of marriage, passed away in 1998, and her son, David J. McDonald passed away in 2009.

MCDONALD — Visitation for Dorothy L. (Miller) McDonald, who died Thursday, April 14, 2016, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St.Services will be at the First English Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the First English Lutheran Church or the Butler Little Theatre.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
