Robert A. “Bob” Wertzberger

Robert A. “Bob” Wertzberger, 68, of West Sunbury passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice from heart failure.

He was born Aug. 3, 1947, in Altoona to the late Andrew G. Wertzberger and Marie L. (Langguth) Wertzberger.

Robert was a dedicated husband and father who worked for AT&T for 35 years as a marketing manager, before retiring and being elected as a Concord Township supervisor for three terms.

A devout Catholic, he volunteered his time with the Knights of Columbus. He served on the church counsel, as a lecturer and a eucharistic minister at St. Bernard in Mount Lebanon and St. Alphonsus in West Sunbury. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, spent his time playing golf, reading vociferously and enjoying family gatherings. He was a strong, well respected man whose word was stronger than oak. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn “Katie” (Rosenberger) A. Wertzberger; their son, Robert F. Wertzberger and his wife, Shannon D., of Bridgeville; and their three grandchildren, Katelyn, Andrew and AJ.

WERTZBERGER — Friends of Robert A. “Bob” Wertzberger, who died Friday, April 8, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating. Private burial will take place.In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
