Frances B. Jaso

Frances B. Jaso, 83, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday peacefully crocheting in her chair at Cumberland Crossing Manor Home.

Born Jan. 8, 1933, in Ford City, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Mazurek) Bartek.

Fran played the organ for Saint Gregory's Church for 23 years, where she eventually retired.

Fran will be most remembered as a woman who loved her family foremost and someone who always had a “spice” for life.

Fran loved music, both classical and religious. Her last life project was crocheting lap robes for Hospice Care. Over the past five years, Fran would spend eight to 10 hours each and every day crocheting lap robes for hospice care patients. Fran was also popular for crocheting baby afghans for newborns.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Jeff Jaso and his wife, Veronica, of Ocala, Fla., and their four children, Franny, Joey, Brianna and Alanna; her daughter, Jennifer Hall and her husband, Tom Hall, and their daughters, Lauren and Julia Randolph of Franklin Park; and her son, Jonathan Jaso and his fiancee, Jodi, and their daughter, Madison. She also is survived by her grandson, Matthew Jaso of San Diego and Kimberly Jaso of New York City.

In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Joseph Jaso, who she married Sept. 1, 1956, and who passed away Nov. 17, 1992; her son, Joseph Jaso Jr.; and her brother, the Rev. Charles Bartek of Wyoming.

JASO — The family of Frances B. Jaso, who died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Michael Roche as celebrant.Fran will be laid to rest at the Resurrection Cemetery in Moon Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Cumberland Crossing Manor Benevolent Care Fund, 9350 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Fran's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
