Butler, Mars tennis in WPIAL play-insThe Butler and Mars varsity boys tennis teams will both be involved in WPIAL Class AAA team tournament play-in matches today.The Golden Tornado host Montour at 3 p.m. The winner of that match travels to Upper St. Clair for a 3:30 p.m. first-round match Thursday.The Planets host Canon-McMillan at 3 p.m. today, with that winner heading to Fox Chapel for a 3:30 p.m. first-round match Thursday.

Butler plays host to PSAC baseballKelly Automotive Park will host the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament beginning Sunday.The double-elimination tournament runs through May 11 and features the top four teams in both the PSAC East and West divisions.Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 for students. Students with a PSAC school identification will be admitted free.The game schedule for the tournament's first two days follows. NHL coach Hartley fired by FlamesCALGARY, Alberta — The Calgary Flames fired Bob Hartley, a season after he was voted the NHL’s coach of the year.Calgary took a big step backward this year after reaching the playoffs last season. The Flames finished 35-40-7, with only Vancouver and Edmonton posting fewer wins in the rugged Western Conference.

Ex-Dolphins coach Shula hospitalizedMIAMI — Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Shula was admitted to a hospital for treatment of fluid retention and sleep apnea.Shula’s ailments were confirmed by his wife.The 86-year-old Shula led his teams to an NFL-record 347 victories.
