Andrew Joseph Mignanelli

Andrew Joseph Mignanelli, 92, of Zelienople passed away Monday in the comfort of his home.

The son of Anthony and Josephine Paparella Mignanelli, he was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Rochester, Pa.

A graduate of Rochester High School, he was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He retired from PBI Industries.

A dedicated and faithful member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Mr. Mignanelli served on the church committee, the Holy Name Society, as an usher and chaired the annual Lawn Fete for 50 years. Andrew was the longest serving usher for the church before his retirement. He was instrumental in forming the St. Gregory School Parent Teacher Guild and served as its first president. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his family.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Alice L. (Trimble) Mignanelli, who he married April 26, 1952; his children, Phyllis M. (William) Martinek, Elaine K. Giles, Gregory A. Mignanelli, Michael J. (Jennifer) Mignanelli, James A. Mignanelli, Mary A. (Brian) Bible, Robert E. (Tracy) Mignanelli and Pamela J. Hayward; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Halahurich, Valissa, Michael, James (Nichol), Jason (Nancy), Philip (Amanda), Maggie (Jeremy Thompson) and Angela Mignanelli, Kaitlyn and Emily Sprole and Brandon, Justin and Cameron Hayward; and his great-grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Halahurich, Braden, Kaylie, Dominic and Dean Mignanelli and Tanner Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jennifer; his son-in-law, Millard E. Giles; his brothers and his sisters-in-law, Andrea Mignanelli, Charles (Angeline) Mignanelli, and Joseph (Florence) Mignanelli; and his sisters and his brothers-in-law, Mary Mignanelli, Angeline (Samuel) Scialabba, Edith (Manuel) Pasquale and Antionette (Roscoe) Eakles.

MIGNANELLI — The family of Andrew Joseph Mignanelli, who died Monday, March 28, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.He will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Mignanelli's honor to the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
