Tree knocks out power to 1,300
MIDDLESEX TWP — About 1,300 West Penn Power customers in the southern part of the township went without power for much of Thursday night and into this morning after a tree fell and broke several utility poles.
Company spokesman Todd Meyers said the outage, which affected the Route 8 corridor from the Butler County line north to Route 228 West, occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday, and power was restored by about 7 a.m. today.
