Dean W. Strobel

Dean W. Strobel, 75, of Buffalo Township passed away Friday while in the company of family members at the Benbrook Hospice Facility in VA Butler Healthcare.

Dean was born Dec. 17, 1940, in Herman. He was the son of the late Lauretta (Kiser) and Glenn Strobel.

Dean owned and operated the New Ken Generator Service in New Kensington for 43 years. He retired in 2014. Dean had also worked for a number of years with W.L. Roenigk in Sarver as a van driver.

He was a member of the Emory Chapel Church in Sarver. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and just going for walks in the woods. He was an amateur pilot who always enjoyed flying his plane. In his younger years, he and his wife rode their Honda Goldwing all over the United States and into parts of Canada. Dean was a workaholic, but he loved to take time out for his family.

Dean is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lori J. (Benn) Strobel; two sons, Joseph and Karen Kozma of Buffalo Township and Mark and Cheryl Kozma of Buffalo Township; Dean has four children to his first marriage, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his two sisters, Marie (Don) Spohn of South Buffalo Township and Carol (Alan) Yost of Portersville, and his brother, Paul (Twilla) Strobel of Winfield Township.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brother, Dale Strobel.

STROBEL — Family and friends of Dean W. Strobel, who died Friday, March 18, 2016, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home following the visitation with the Rev. Mary Jo Gould, pastor, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emory Chapel Church, Route 228, P.O.
