Calvin Thomas Littlejohn
Calvin Thomas Littlejohn of Butler passed away Wednesday, losing his nine-year battle to systemic lupus and other related autoimmune diseases.
Calvin was born Oct. 29, 1985, in Pittsburgh to Noella Ann Littlejohn and Calvin Edison Hill.
He is the foster son of Hank and Terry Leyland of Butler. Calvin and Kearsten Ihlenfeld shared in bringing their greatest joy into the world, their son, Braylon Thomas Littlejohn. Calvin was the brother of Rodnell Littlejohn, Trevor Leyland, Levi Leyland and the late Emily Leyland. He also is survived by his half-brother, Khalil Hill; and three half-sisters, Sequaya Johnson, Thomsina Helms and Tanish Helms.
Calvin grew up with a pure passion for people; his magnetic personality was felt by all who met him. He could capture a room from the moment he walked in, whether it was with his ruggedly handsome looks, quick wit or unparalleled comedic timing. His charm and ability to talk to anyone gained him many friends throughout the years.
He always held a tremendous passion for sports and was blessed with the natural ability to excel. At Butler High School, Calvin was a four-year letterman in football, track and basketball. He honed his skills on the gridiron as a young athlete in the Butler Area Midget Football League and continued as a scholastic athlete in football, where he was chosen his senior year for the NAFCA All-Star Game. In track, Calvin was a WPIAL champion and a PIAA finalist. He still holds records.
Calvin was a graduate of the Butler High School Class of 2004. He also loved the challenge of bingo.
Of all of Calvin's accomplishments, the greatest of all was his son, Braylon, who was truly the center of his world.
