Doris I. (Wise) Straessley

Doris I. (Wise) Straessley, 92, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Wednesday at Concordia of Cranberry.

Born March 6, 1924, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Edith (Harper) Wise.

Doris was a nurse's aide at Pineview Manor in Wexford for over 20 years. She also worked for Hartman's Drugstore in Zelienople for many years.

Doris will be most remembered for devoting her life to caring for her husband and family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two loving children, Sue (Frank) Schmidhamer of Clark, Pa., and Thomas J. (Annette) Straessley of Cranberry Township; her five grandchildren, Gabriel Straessley, Aaron (Cori) Dunn, Karrie Dunn-Ragland (Bobby), Angela Straessley and Matthew Straessley; and her five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence M. Straessley, who she married July 5, 1947, and who passed away May 12, 1995; her brother, Harold W. Wise; and her sister, Dorothy Isaly.

STRAESSLEY — Family and friends of Doris I. (Wise) Straessley, who died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, are welcome from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.She will be laid to rest privately at the Evans City Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
