P. Darell Rankin

P. Darell Rankin, 64, of Emlenton, formerly of Shippenville, passed away of natural causes early Wednesday morning at his home in Emlenton.

Darell was born May 30, 1951, in Grove City. He was the son of the late Paul D. and Jeanine Campbell Rankin.

Mr. Rankin was a graduate of Franklin High School. Darell enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the company of his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knox Rod and Gun Club and was a life member of the NRA.

Mr. Rankin had been employed as a finisher at Astro Manufacturing in Shippenville.

He was a Methodist.

Mr. Rankin was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Juanita S. Best, who died Feb. 4, 2003.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Sheree Ort and her husband, Greg, of Emlenton; her brother, Jeff Rankin and his wife, Lynn, of Emlenton; his half-sister, Stephanie Rankin of Parker; and four step-grandchildren, Andrew Kinney of Butler, Austin Ort, Justin Ort and Tara Ort, all of Emlenton; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

RANKIN — Friends of P. Darell Rankin, who died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hile Funeral Home, 802 Grove St., Saint Petersburg.A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
